The World This Weekend

Too busy to read all the news? Here are five things that happened since Friday!

England: We suggested Man City at Swansea was a game to watch, and for one City fan the blues’ 1-0 defeat was all too much. Better viewing for City fans this weekend was Mario Balotelli’s interview with former Oasis star Noel Gallagher.

Canada: Major League Soccer’s 17th season kicked off in Canada as expansion team Montreal Impact visited the Vancouver Whitecaps – and lost (includes video). Champions LA Galaxy also lost their opener, 3-1 at home to Real Salt Lake. They were winning 1-0 with seventeen minutes to go.

Italy: Earlier in the Italian TV interview that forced Fabio Cappello’s ejection from the England job, he said he thought Juve would edge Milan for the title. Milan won and Juve drew at the weekend, putting Milan four points clear. Oh, and Napoli warmed up for their Champions League game with Chelsea by scoring six.

Scotland: Buy a red and black scarf to help Rangers survive until the end of the season. And is a First Touch Hong Kong reader riding to their rescue?

Holland: Is this the tightest title race in Europe? The Dutch league has five teams within four points at the top.
