And so to the other half of the Premier League, the sides that, whether they admit it or not, will simply be glad just to be in next season’s EPL preview.

First blood in the new season in the EPL was drawn by Liverpool last Saturday evening when they saw off the challenge of Manchester City to carry off the Community Shield.

When it comes to the EPL challengers, with no disrespect to Manchester City, but choosing between Liverpool and City was really the toss of a coin this season.

The sensible money was on Man City to emerge as EPL champions and Spurs to clinch the last Champions League berth.  Next up, the final World Cup qualifiers

Everton are unlikely to have sobered up by Sunday after pulling off a brilliant comeback at Goodison, from 2-0 down to 3-2 winners.

the Clarets since sacking Sean Dyche have hauled themselves out of the bottom three of the EPL and are starting to look good for survival.
